Rico Blanco Tries TV

Former Rivermaya frontman, Rico Blanco tests new waters as he joins the cast of ABS-CBN’s upcoming primetime series Imortal. The singer-musician is now a certified Kapamilya and will be working alongside Angel Locsin, John Lloyd Cruz, and Maricar Reyes.

Blanco says it’s his first time acting for TV and feels it’s quite different. In Imortal, he plays Lucas the bestfriend of Mateo (Cruz). His character will also be trapped in a complicated love triangle with werewolf Lia (Locsin) and vampire Mateo.

Acting is not really new to Blanco since he tried theater before. He actually starred alongside Noel Cabangon and Joey Ayala in Jesus Christ Superstar which was staged in the Music Museum and 70s Bistro. He was also part of Epy Quizon and Christopher de Leon's independent film Nasaan si Francis.

Though Blanco is now a full-fledged actor, he vows never to stop singing and composing songs. It will be remembered that Blanco was the composer of Rivermaya hits Kisapmata, Elisi, Awit ng Kabataan, and Himala among others.
